Research and a little MMO street smarts would have saved you, but hopefully you learned more than just "don't trust GSF". If that's all you take away from this, you are doomed to be a mark again for someone else. You should never blindly trust someone who you don't know personally. That is my policy since UO and it hasn't failed me yet. I learned mine to the tune of 300gold for a "full spellbook" while your's was 1.7 Billion. Hopefully this does not completely sour the experience for you, but if you collected those resources before I'm sure you'll be back on your feet in no time.
